After a succesful first venture for Worrall Production Companies performance of Finding Nemo in the Summer of 2025, we are thrilled to be returning to the Buzz Theatre in Woking in August 2026 to perform the fantastic, Spongbob Squarepants Musical.
As a reminder, our Worrall Production Company shows are not the same as our show-in-a-week workshops. These shows are more like amateur dramatics but for children. The show is cast in January/Febuary 2026 and will be rehearsed over the course of the first half of the year and performed over a run of six performances in August.
The goal with Worrall Production Company was to bring theatre and performance oppurtunities to under 18 year olds in a professional working theatre. Unlike our other workshops, this is a completley not-for-profit scheme. The performers give up their time at the weekends to work on the show and when it comes to performing the show, tickets are sold which goes towards paying for the amazing venue in Woking. We are blessed to have professionals working behind the scenes to bring the shows to life from Chaperones to the children, sound engineers, set designers, lighting operators and skilled hair and makeup assistants all of which give up their time for free to provide these wonderful opputunties to the young performers.
Here’s all the audition info for our production of SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS THE MUSICAL
Just a reminder this is not that same as our show in a week productions. We will be rehearsing throughout the year up until the show at the BUZZ THEATRE in WOKING in AUGUST (19th - 22nd).
There is a small show fee to join the production (likely to be around £60) but other than that this production is run like a community theatre, so there are no additional costs to participate.
There is however a level of commitment required - you need to be able to make almost all of the rehearsals in order to participate, as it’s hard to rehearse when not everyone is there. We’re not expecting you to make every single rehearsal but you will need to let us know which dates you can’t make when you submit your audition tapes, so we can make a plan of what to rehearse that day (in advance). Rehearsals will most likely take place in Cobham, Surrey but the venue is yet to be confirmed
You will need to be available for ALL the rehearsal dates marked in red.
You must be at least 8 years old by the time of the production to participate.
Please make sure your audition tapes that you send in are super characterful and expressive. We want to see those well known cartoon characters brought to life before our eyes! And if you can imitate the voices of any of the characters then please show us that as well.
To audition please record yourself performing any of the attached monologues and choose one of the songs from either the original cast recording or the junior version (whichever is best for your voice in terms of keys) and send it to us via the e-mail adddress at the bottom of the page.
Once you have chosen your song please perform it to a backing track - if you can’t find the backing track for your chosen song on YouTube then please email and I will send it to you. I’ve made a list of what songs the characters sing underneath. You don’t have to sing the entire song (although you can if you want to) just 30 seconds is totally fine.
Audition tapes must be in by 18th January.
